GoldWave by GoldWave Inc. is a powerful and feature-rich audio editor, but unfortunately, it is not compatible with the Mac OS X. However, GoldWave for Mac can easily be replaced by any application from this list of alternatives. These tools support all formats that GoldWave for Mac would open and they're bundled with the same main modules: player, recorder, analyzer, converter.

Actually there is a way to run Goldwave on a Mac but it involves installing Parallels Desktop software (shareware). Run the software on 'Coherence' mode, and Goldwave will open up freely from your OS X desktop. I've even got the Goldwave logo displaying in my dock allowing me to click on it whenever I like, which automatically opens Parallels, which, in turn, opens GW. The GW window opens among my OS X windows and I can easily drag and drop sound files from my Mac desktop into GW. Happy days!
