7-Zip is a very popular archive manager that supports most of the popular compression formats. 7-Zip for Mac has not been developed by Igor Pavlov, yet. Anyway, if you were looking for 7-Zip for Mac and didn't manage to find it, there's no need to get upset, as there are some nice alternatives on the market, and you may find some of the best here. These applications can easily extract, compress and manage all file formats supported by 7-Zip.

Yes, you can! Google: 3 things (individually);
1. Install Mac Ports
2. Install "Brew" terminal (HomeBrew sort of like APTGET)
3. Then paste the cmd: "sudo brew 7zx"
After installing, you should be able to fire open a terminal shell and type
"7z x [drag the archive into the terminal window after the space and press Return"].

How can I install 7-Zip on OS X? I would like to be able to run 7-Xip from the command line on Mac. Does anyone have instructions on how to set this up?
